Sears Monument Company has served over 150,000 families while being in business since 1911, striving to help families during a time when decisions are difficult to make.
It was October 1911 when Roy Oscar Sears established what was to become the largest memorial monument company in West Virginia. The original address of the company was where The Gazette and Daily Mail stand today, in Charleston.
Today, Sears Monument is owned and operated by Roy’s grandson Brent Sears, and has four showrooms located in Charleston, Huntington, Beckley and Parkersburg. Additionally, there are over 17 funeral homes that offer their products to the families in the areas they serve. As West Virginia's oldest and largest supplier of memorials and monuments, they produce and install monuments in West Virginia, southeastern Ohio and western Kentucky.
As members of the American Institute Of Commemorative Art (AICA) and Monument Builders of North America (MBNA), Sears Monument’s memorial designers attend ongoing seminars conducted by nationally known instructors to ensure customers are provided with the most up-to-date technology and design techniques. Thus, establishing a reputation for creative memorialization and exceptional workmanship, with guaranteed satisfaction.
Offering a complete line of monuments, with over 2,000 memorials in stock, displaying more varieties of granite than most dealers and cemeteries. Select from flat markers, upright monuments, flat bronze memorials, benches, cremation memorials and urns, mausoleums, bronze plaques, granite signs, military monuments, and uniquely shaped monuments.
Delivering and installing memorials in over 600 different cemeteries each year, they are knowledgeable of cemetery locations and terrains across the state, as well as being familiar with the requirements of perpetual care cemeteries.
