The Sustainable European Advanced Subsea Tidal Array (SEASTAR) project will deliver a 4 MW tidal farm of 16 tidal stream turbines – the largest number of turbines ever deployed in a single location globally.
The SEASTAR project will demonstrate industrial scale manufacturing, operation and maintenance techniques for the first time throughout the entire lifecycle of the tidal farm – from design, production, shipping, and deployment to operation. SEASTAR is set to reinforce the collaborative partnership between the UK and Europe, create high-quality green jobs and enhance Europe’s position as a global frontrunner in the marine energy supply chain. This will accelerate the sustainable commercialisation and scaling up of tidal power across Europe and the UK.
