SecMeRe is a project started in 2016 to build an asynchronous secured Electrical Medical Record based on the Blockchain technology Ethereum.
The aim is to allow Medical staff operating in rural areas where connection to the internet or any type of network is difficult to still be able to use shared EMR. This is particularly applicable in developing countries where a big problem with medical aid is tracking which patient got what treatment. The first stage of the project is to focus on the vaccines history of patients.
The blockchain aspect of the project will allow to build a democratic ecosystem where the EMR are kept in a secured distributed space and the access to them is completely ruled by the blockchain.
The accessing method to this system is an android app. The app will allow medical staff to plan a trip by downloading certain parts of a database onto their mobile device, update records once on the field and then upload the modifications to the shared database once back in a networked area.
