Secret Journeys opens doors to places that even many Parisians have never seen, taking the idea of “insider” travel to the next level. The experiential travel specialist offers an array of journeys for small and private groups, based on encounters with expert authors, historians, artists, chefs and craftspeople. Philippe Hertzberg, the former executive director of The New York Times News Service, founded Secret Journeys in 2018 to use the best qualities of journalism — compelling and accurate storytelling — to share aspects of Paris, his hometown, that travelers would never find on their own.
