SAC follows events and developments in securities arbitration and commodities arbitration. The primary forums in these industries are sponsored by self-regulatory organizations and overseen by government agencies (CFTC; SEC). Since 1989, SAC has been collecting arbitration Awards issued by numerous, relevant forums, contributing to an Awards Library that exists in both paper and electronic form and contains more than 50,000 Awards. That Awards Library can be accessed, subject to TOU restrictions, by the public for free at www.ARBchek.com. Parties in arbitration use the ARBchek system to check their arbitrators' Award history online, employing a search & display capability that is powered by SAC's Award Database. SAC's Award Database employs powerful database management software that permits us to define more than 50 information fields populated for each Award that can be searched by multiple fields, sorted and re-shuffled for report & display purposes. The resulting standardized reports are presented either online or in PDF or in spreadsheet formats that allow linking from records in the reports to relevant arbitration Awards. SAC's Award Database powers our online ARBchek system and it also provides users with customized searches that yield intelligent data and statistics that can guide strategic, risk management decisions and inform tactical moves in individual cases. SAC uses the Award Database to perform Award surveys and inquiries into various issues that concern arbitration participants and publicizes those surveys in its Securities Arbitration Commentator print newsletter. Subscribers to the SAC newsletter receive news and commentary about the latest arbitration events and developments and may also receive weekly updates via our SAA email service, Securities Arbitration Alert.
