About Seed Alert Seed Alert is a newsletter dedicated to showcasing exciting startups founded by Sri Lankans. I firmly believe that you don’t have to be in Sri Lanka to contribute to its growth. My goal is to create awareness and build a community that actively celebrates and supports startups founded by Sri Lankans across the world. 1. 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙞𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙝𝙤’𝙨 𝙞𝙩 𝙛𝙤𝙧? Seed Alert highlights early-stage product startups built by Sri Lankan founders—whether in Colombo or California. It’s for investors, founders, journalists and anyone curious to learn. 2. 𝙒𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙢 𝙄? I’m a VC and startup operator. I've raised, scaled and exited startups. I’ve led investments into 50+ startups across South & Southeast Asia. I’m using that lens to alert the next generation of Lankan-led startups, before they become sexy. 3. 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙖𝙢 𝙄 𝙙𝙤𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨? I hope this will unite the entrepreneurial community, create more awareness and create a culture where we celebrate the risk takers. 4. 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙞𝙨 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙞𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩? It's the only curated newsletter spotlighting early-stage, product startups founded by Sri Lankans globally. My goal is to democratise deal flow. I'm not saying these startups are going to be unicorns–you're smart enough to be the judge of that.
