SEED Italy - Solar Decathlon Europe 2019 team

SEED Italy doesn’t mean only “Sustainable Energy Efficent Design”, it also means “sowing Italy”. SEED Italy’s prototype, that will be realized for the Solar Decathlon Europe competition in Szentendre (July 2019), is the opening move of a bigger goal. The urban scale operation enables a reproducible strategy for the rehabilitation of the building heritage. The idea is to build simple volumes on top of existing buildings, in order to maintain the building’s function and to allow the energy efficiency improvement. In this way, these spaces could host houses, classrooms or offices while the improvement takes place.
