We're not here to tell anyone what self-care looks like, we're here to remind people to tune in and ask themselves: "What do I need today?" without judgement. Especially on social media, self-care is portrayed as something harmonic, pretty and aesthetic, which has created unnecessary pressure around what self-care should be, making self-care feel like it’s unachievable for many of us. In reality, self-care is about so much more than finding your zen or looking Instagram-perfect. Let's embrace the real sides of self-care: The messy buns, the comfy clothes, the post-workout sweaty red faces, the empty bag of chips, the ugly-crying and the 5 minutes to finish your cold coffee before the kids turn the house upside down again. There are no rules to what self-care is and what it should look like. Self-care is whatever YOU need it to be. Self Cared is about making self-care practices and mental health services more accessible to Australians by providing products and psychologist-approved content that encourage people to prioritise their needs to feel ok. In addition, we support not-for-profit organisation WayAhead, who actively work to educate people on mental health and wellbeing, and connect them to services and resources that improve their mental health.
