All programs offered by SELF-ish are Holisitic Psychoeducational Programs. This means that we recognize the importance of addressing a client's issues or struggles from all possible perspectives, and this helps bring a greater level of therapeutic care, and thereby increase potential positive outcomes, to our clients. By engaging in a holistic approach, we are able to examine our clients' biopsychosocial+ struggles with a more realistic perspective and with greater understanding that the client's struggles could result from numerous sources or combinations of sources. As such, our approach to aiding our client's cannot consist of a singular approach and must involve the coordinated efforts of approaches to educational, therapeutic, and medical resources.This holistic methodology requires a more complete and comprehensive approach typically resulting in a reduction of the quantity of acute level crises and improved mental health outcomes both chronic and acute. Our organization has worked to form critical relationships with local and rural medical providers to help further support our clients and aid them in accessing any needed pharmacological and/or medical support. We are able to provide the client with more options through our networks of rural and urban psychiatric medical practitioners and therapists to fulfill any additional needs that may occur. It is our goal, through our endeavors and connections with other practitioners, counselors, therapists, social workers, mental healthcare providers, and medical healthcare providers to offer the most comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to mental healthcare available in Southwest Louisiana. Lastly, we are working both individually and with community resources in order to engage in an effective attack on the stigma associated with mental health or addressing mental health needs in America.
