Semnan University is a fast growing university of Iran. Before Islamic revolution, there was only one small &limited higher education center as « Higher School of Technology » in Semnan. Educational activities in this center continued until after the Islamic revolution when the decision was made to its development. In this regard, this center changed into the «Semnan Higher Education Complex » in 1988. After 5 years, with significant development of the complex for example inauguration of colleges of Engineering, Veterinary and Teacher Training, this complex was promoted to the University of Semnan. Now Semnan University has educational and researching activities with having 13 Faculties, 210 fixed and visiting faculty members . It also has approximately 10000 students, 20 doctorate fields, 57 master's degree, 55 bachelor's degree and 2 associate's degree.
