SemuBot MTÜ

SemuBot is a student project to develop the first human companion robot in Estonia. The idea of the project came in 2020 from two professors of the University of Tartu. At the end of 2022, we started to work more actively with the project and now we are close to the construction phase. Why to join as a student? At SemuBot, we give students an opportunity to put various theoretical knowledge from lectures into practice, combine knowledge from different fields, be a part of a great team, to work with world-class mentors, to get tasks to be responsible for and realize these ambitions. Students are guided by the best mentors through the whole project. In the development of the humanoid robot, we bring together students from different fields to build a robot cooperatively. Why this project is important for Estonia? There is a strong phase of growth in the world's robotics technology level and also in economy. Estonia, as a successful breeding ground for start-ups and a recognized social implementer of technology, can quickly establish itself in the world of robotics. If there are people in Estonia, who know robot technology and know how to develop robots as embodiments of artificial intelligence, then it is possible to create companies here, where innovative human companion robots are developed.
