After spending several years in various marketing roles I decided that the corporate world was not for me, and so began my journey as a freelance marketing consultant. It's funny how so many people struggle to market themselves and are encapsulated in a bubble, a comfort zone of predictable marketing messages, standard sales speak and an ethos of "well, that's the way we've always done it". Change is essential in order to grow, and growth comes from doing things in a different way. I get really frustrated when I hear from clients about how they've paid thousands of pounds for marketing that hasn't actually produced an outcome. It's also frustrating to hear that so many people I talk to don't see measuring their outcomes as a prerequisite. I work in a strategic, process-driven way (sounds tedious, but it works). I have an incredibly strong work ethic and I'm dedicated to generating results for my clients. Having been referred to as the "colouring in department" for 17 years of my life, I've built a resilience to the stigma of marketing being all "warm and fluffy". I set my own ambitious goals for each client I work with to ensure they end up with more than just a pretty picture as their return on investment (I am however a fan of adult colouring books, but you didn't read that here).
