Founded in 2020 by four friends in response to the COVID-19 global pandemic, Sending Sunshine is a Charity (#730627478RR0001) that seeks to provide a ray of happiness in the lives of senior citizens living in Canada. Our country’s seniors are considered to be a vulnerable age group, thus we decided to create an initiative that would benefit members of this demographic, especially those who may not have a lot of contact with others. Specifically, Sending Sunshine collects cards containing uplifting, handwritten messages written by people in Canada and beyond. These cards are then delivered to various care facilities, where they are ultimately distributed to the residents. By receiving a handmade card, it is our hope that senior citizens will experience more joy and love in their everyday lives.
