Senior Expert Service (SES) gGmbH is the leading German organization for volunteer experts who are retired or taking a career break (Weltdienst 30+).
Currently, more than 13,000 experts from over 50 sectors provide their knowledge and professional experience to SES. SES assignments take place in developing and emerging countries and in Germany. Since it was founded in 1983, SES has carried out around 60,000 voluntary assignments in over 160 countries, around a third of them in Germany.
SES is supported by the leading German business associations: the Federation of German Industries (BDI), the Confederation of German Employers' Associations (BDA), the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DIHK) and the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH). The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) supports the activities of SES abroad, while the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) supports its commitment to trainees within the framework of VerAplus in Germany.
