Sensibly seeks to create a breakthrough bi-hormonal artificial pancreas for Type 1 Diabetics. We approached developing our device by researching how we could create a single device to revolutionize the lives of Type 1 Diabetics. We discovered that the problem is a mix between the technology itself and the secondary issues that current alternatives do not account for. For years, regulating glucose levels in the blood has been an issue that has led to all of the major side-effects of diabetes. We decided that we would not only create a device that automates all of this control, but also create an intuitive system that blends into the lives of its users to increase coherence to medical suggestions and in the long run become a system that promotes good control through its design. Sensibly looks to incorporate user research into the design and engineering of the device to combat the root of the problems of non-compliance. The bi-hormonal approach aims to solve the problem of both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, by automating the process of making the lives of Type-1 Diabetics easier and safer.
