Since 2014, Sentinel Upcycling Technologies has converted over 206 tonnes of plastic waste and transformed this into incredible products like school chairs and furniture. Sorted waste is collected through its buy-back initiative, then transported to a cutting-edge processing facility where they are eventually blended into products of at least 20 to a 100% recovered material. Reducing the use of virgin plastic, while giving communities extra income—shifting their view through by turning trash into a resource.
The key to the company’s success is the size of its commercial operations and production, making waste-recovery economically viable to craft a durable product line through economies of scale, all while capturing both recyclables from post-industrial and, most especially, post-consumer waste (which ends up clogging waterways and rivers in the Philippines).
