Serendipol emerged from a relief project to rebuild livelihoods after the devastating 2004 Tsunami in Sri Lanka that claimed thousands of lives. Dr. Bronner’s involvement in rebuilding cottage industries led to the establishment of Serendipol in 2007, focusing on Fair Trade and Organic (FTO) agricultural raw materials. Serving as the flagship of Serendiworld projects, Serendipol now supplies FTO raw materials to Dr. Bronner's. Despite initial scepticism about the sustainability of organic farming and fair trade, Serendipol has overcome challenges, transforming from a modest setup in a dilapidated Desiccated Coconut Mill to a leading global producer and exporter of FTO Virgin Coconut Oil in a remarkably short timeframe.
