The Security and Emergency Response Training Center (SERTC) is a nationally recognized leader in hazardous materials and emergency response training. Established in 1985, SERTC has trained over 75,000 first responders, emergency managers, and industry professionals through immersive, real-world scenarios that simulate high-risk incidents involving rail and surface transportation. Located in Pueblo, Colorado, and operated by MxV Rail, SERTC offers a unique, purpose-built training environment that includes full-scale railcars, tankers, and intermodal equipment. This infrastructure allows trainees to experience realistic, hands-on instruction that prepares them for the complexities of hazardous materials response in the field. SERTC is a proud member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), delivering FEMA-funded courses at no cost to qualified emergency responders.
