In 1860, Ernest Pourtier founded his company in Paris to meet the needs of a rapidly growing textile industry. He designed and sold custom rotating machines for his clients. Quality and performance were already at the heart of his work. Over time, the company evolved, innovated, and diversified, particularly by manufacturing machines for the telephone cable and later the energy cable industries. A few years later, in 1948, Setic was established in Roanne with the same philosophy and values of quality, performance, and innovation. In 1960, the company began designing and manufacturing machines for data transmission. Both companies thrived independently until they merged in the early 21st century.
