Seun'dele

Seun’dele, founded in 2023 by Nigerian textile designer Oluwaseun Oyedele, is a sustainable fashion and lifestyle brand rooted in traditional African Culture and Art. Growing up in a home where music and art was a core part of everyday life, Inspired by her parents, who seamlessly integrated hand-dyed traditional african pieces into their everyday fashion choices, African-inspired decor into their home, from ‘Aso-Oke’ throw pillows, couches, stools, raffia baskets, to exquisite wooden furniture, Seun developed a deep appreciation for African aesthetics from an early age. Between 2018 and 2022, Seun honed her craft in the traditional art of Adire, studying under seasoned artisans with over 30 years of expertise. During this time, she identified a significant gap in the market: African fashion and prints were increasingly being sidelined by younger generations, who viewed traditional prints as outdated. Bold, playful, and expressive alternatives that celebrated individuality and modern identity were missing. Determined to bridge this gap, Seun leveraged her professional background in art, her ongoing degree in Visual Arts, and her mastery of Adire/Batik techniques to launch Seun’dele. Her vision is to create a brand that fuses tradition with modernity, playing with color, abstract patterns, adventurous and experimental textile techniques and rich storytelling to reimagine African fashion and lifestyle. Seun’dele seeks to inspire a new generation to embrace their cultural roots while celebrating their unique, contemporary identities in style. Grounded in a commitment to sustainability, Seun’dele champions a zero-waste and circular approach, turning the spotlight on upcycling and innovation. Every piece is crafted with purpose, creating a legacy that speaks to the next generation of mindful creators and consumers.
