Our activity is shaped around four core pillars set out in the Department for Transport’s Strategy for Community Rail: - providing a voice for the community - promoting sustainable, healthy and accessible travel - bringing communities together and supporting diversity and inclusion - supporting social and economic development Severnside Community Rail Partnership is a Department for Transport Accredited Community Rail Partnership. Established in 2006 as Community Interest (not for profit) Company, our principal partners and funders are Bath and North East Somerset Council, Bristol City Council, North Somerset Council, Somerset Council, South Gloucestershire Council, Great Western Railway and CrossCountry Trains. Network Rail and The British Transport Police also support the work of the Partnership. Severnside is of around seventy Community Rail Partnerships delivering similar activity across Britain. We are members of The Community Rail Network the umbrella organisation supporting Community Rail Partnerships and volunteer station support groups. Our small delivery team is supported by a Board of Directors comprising of representatives of our funding partners and independent members. We are actively seeking new independent Board members.
