Společnost SEVT vznikla v roce 1992 jako nástupce Statistického a evidenčního vydavatelství tiskopisů (založeno 1954). V minulosti společnost spolupracovala na rozsáhlých projektech např. zajišťování voleb všech stupňů, kupónová privatizace, distribuce průkazů VZP, apod. V současné době se kromě tradičního vydávání hospodářských a úředních tiskopisů činnost společnosti rozrostla o další služby a sortiment prodávaný prostřednictvím internetového obchodu a kamenných prodejen.
