Sex Rules

Sex Rules is a highly engaging, interactive educational lecture designed to revolutionalize the way we teach people about sex, sexuality, and sexual assault awareness and prevention. With an emphasis on healing resources, actionable advocacy tips, and empowering language, Sex Rules treats participants like partners in changing the culture and conversation around sexual assault awareness and prevention. And through the use of strategic humor and audience participation, listeners become active participants who are more likely to remember some of the key takeaways from the program. After touring with various educational and interactive programs and her own comedy for over a decade, comedian and actress Briana Hansen realized that many of the available programs around this conversation are either triggering, outdated, heavily heteronormative, mind-numbing, or too cheesy to take seriously. She wanted to create something that actively talks with students, rather than at them. And, because of her own experiences as a sexual assault survivor, she wanted something that focused significantly more on understanding both the trauma and healing processes, along with available resources. And thus, Sex Rules was born. Every program is customizable depending on various community needs. The lecture currently focuses on serving high schools, colleges, and military institutions.
