SFPE Philadelphia - Delaware Valley

The Philadelphia-Delaware Valley Chapter is the local SFPE organization in the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area, encompassing an area including Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey, and Delaware. Our Chapter was initiated in 1957 and received its 501(c)6 designation as a subordinate entity of the SFPE in 1966. The objectives of the Philadelphia-Delaware Valley Chapter are to advance the science and practice of fire protection engineering and its allied fields, to maintain a high ethical standard among its members, and to foster fire protection engineering education. In accomplishing these objectives, the Chapter shall not engage in any activity which is not educational, scientific, or charitable, or which is inconsistent with the objectives and policies of the Society. The Philadelphia-Delaware Valley Chapter is a chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), the world's oldest and largest organization dedicated to strengthening the fire protection engineers profession and advancing the science of fire protection. Established in 1950 and incorporated as a not-for-profit membership organization in 1971, SFPE is the world's leading professional Society representing those practicing in fire protection and fire safety engineering. The Society has nearly 5000 members and over 100 chapters worldwide, including 20 student chapters. SFPE also encourages a comprehensive education for fire protection engineers and continuing on-the-job training. SFPE offers an all-embracing benefit package, including free member series webinars, technical publications, numerous discounts, and so much more.
