About SGLT2 HYPE project
SGLT2-HYPE: A New Approach to Hypertension Management Hypertension remains a major health challenge, affecting over 80 million people in the EU and contributing to one million deaths each year. While treatments exist, many patients struggle to keep their blood pressure under control, increasing their risk of heart and kidney diseases. Our Mission: The SGLT2-HYPE trial is a groundbreaking international study investigating dapagliflozin, a promising SGLT2 inhibitor commonly used for diabetes and heart failure. With nearly 3,200 elderly participants at cardiovascular risk, this seven-year study will provide crucial insights into how this treatment can improve blood pressure control and protect vital organs. Why It Matters: By exploring innovative solutions, we aim to advance hypertension treatment and improve the lives of millions.
