Shade Tree Clinic (STC), Vanderbilt University's medical-student-run free clinic, serves the underinsured and uninsured community of Northeast Nashville. Our mission is to provide high-quality comprehensive healthcare services while simultaneously training the next generation of physicians in compassionate and culturally sensitive community medicine. Shade Tree Clinic is managed and operated by volunteer medical students, and medical services are supervised by volunteer physicians from Vanderbilt and the greater Nashville community. Together, we have provided over 5,000 medical, social, psychiatric, and medication management visits since opening in October 2005.
