Are you an expat in Luxembourg? Have you struggled to engage with the Luxembourg local community? "Us too... " - H & S Hanna and Silvia's journey began as fellow Global Shapers in the Luxembourg Hub, driven by a shared passion for creating positive change in their local community. As expats themselves, they understood the unique challenges faced by those living abroad and wanted to make a meaningful difference for other expats. Their friendship blossomed through their involvement in annual Shapeathon events, which connected local NGOs with enthusiastic volunteers. During these events, they noticed a common problem: while participants enjoyed the experience and found it rewarding, there was often a lack of follow-up and sustained engagement. Inspired by this insight, Hanna and Silvia decided to take their commitment to the next level. They envisioned a more permanent solution that would keep the momentum going and provide continuous support for expats eager to make a social impact. And thus, ShapeOn was born. ShapeOn is more than just a platform; it's a vibrant community where expats can engage in social entrepreneurship, collaborate with impactful organizations, and develop innovative solutions to the everyday challenges they face. Hanna and Silvia's dedication to fostering social innovation has transformed ShapeOn into a dynamic hub, poised to become the greatest social innovation center in Europe.
