Global Shapers Ankara

Born out of the World Economic Forum, the Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges. With more than 6,000 members, the Global Shapers Community spans 376 city-based hubs in 156 countries. Young leaders between 20 and 30 years old who want to develop their leadership potential towards serving society. To that end, Hubs undertake local projects to improve their communities. With the largest youth population in history, there is an unprecedented opportunity for young people to take an active role in shaping the future. This generation has inherited enormous global challenges, but has the ability to confront the status quo and offer youth-led solutions for change. Shapers are highly motivated individuals who have a great potential for future leadership roles in society. They are selected on the basis of their achievements, leadership potential, and commitment to make a difference. Through the Global Shapers Community, Shapers are provided with opportunities to connect with the worldwide network of Global Shapers, to network with other World Economic Forum communities, and to represent the voice of youth at World Economic Forum events. Shapers are united by a common desire to channel the members’ tremendous energy and enthusiasm into building a more peaceful and inclusive world. With similar aspirations, Ankara Hub was founded in 2014. Ankara Hub was awarded with "The Abraaj Growth Markets Grant" with its "Keçeden" project on empowering women in its first year of activity. The hub has been launching successful local projects since then. TR: Global Shapers Ankara da benzer bir vizyonla, Eylül 2014’te kurulmuştur. Ankara için önemli projeler üretmeye başlayan genç profesyoneller, gelecekte adlarından sıklıkla söz ettirecek bir sivil toplum kuruluşu olma yolunda emin adımla ilerlemektedirler. Global Shapers Ankara kurulduğu günden bu yana, Ankara’nın önemli bileşenleriyle irtibata geçmiş, hem kamu kurumlarına hem özel sektöre yönelik gerçekleştirdiği üst düzey ziyaret ve toplantılarda kendini tanıtmıştır. Son olarak büyümekte olan pazarlardaki kritik toplumsal sorunların çözülmesine yardımcı olmak amacıyla düzenlenen “The Abraaj Growth Markets Grant” hibe yarışmasına Ankaralı kadınları destekleyecek projeleri ile kazandı.
