Shared Interest Foundation (SIF) is a registered charity (1102375) founded in 2004 with head office in Newcastle upon Tyne.
SIF aims to improve livelihoods through the development of sustainable businesses and income generation initiatives across Africa and Latin America.
We work with local partners to implement projects that aim to:
1. Support the development of sustainable income generating enterprises to improve livelihoods and contribute towards a reduction in poverty
2. Economically empower women and youth
3. Support farmers to implement climate adaption agriculture techniques to build their climate resilience and increase environmental protection
4. Strengthen the resilience and sustainability of co-operatives which support thousands of farmers and artisans
Over the past year, we delivered 14 projects, which supported the development of innovative initiatives to strengthen the climate resilience of producers, created income generating opportunities for women and young people, and established enterprises which generate vital income for rural communities.
Whilst we support all SDGs, we feel our projects align closest with No Poverty (1), Gender Equality (5), Decent Work and Economic Growth (8), Climate Action (13) and Partnerships for the Goals (17), along with an additional theme of ‘Youth Engagement’.
