Sharif HPC

Sharif University of Technology's High-Performance Computing Center (HPC) was founded in the spring of 2013, with the launch of the initial pilot of the high-performance computing center and the provision of free services to students, researchers, and professors of Sharif University of Technology. The infrastructure was transferred to the leading data center of the university at the end of 2017. Since September 2018, with the launch of the website and the new service delivery model, Sharif HPC professionally started the service delivery phase. During the years 2018 to 2021, with the support and assistance of the vice chancellor for research and technology of Sharif University of Technology, the vice presidency for science and technology, and the office of support for research and technology of the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology, the processing resources of this center increased to 2500 processing cores (including 4200 processing threads), 90 GPUs, 15 terabytes of main memory and 560 terabytes of storage space. The center currently serves more than 3,000 registered users, and in recent months, more than 15,000 executions per month have been processed in the system. From the beginning of 2020, in addition to students and professors of Sharif University of Technology, the services of this center are provided to students and professors of Shiraz, Yazd, Tabriz, Sahand Tabriz, Birjand, and Shahid Chamran universities. Since November 2020, professional services on a larger scale will be provided to all students and professors of Tabriz University in the form of an agreement between them.
