About Shibata Biotechnology Inc.

Shibata Biotechnology develops inhalation toxicity testing equipment for rodents. We target development and productization of safe and reliable equipment using cutting edge technology, for researchers worldwide. We design customized inhalation exposure systems for small animals such as, mice, rats, and guinea pigs. By choosing the number of cages and test substance generators, we can build a system that exactly meets the needs of your research. The small foot print of our system means there is no need to construct a special building dedicated to housing an inhalation exposure system. All our system requires is a corner in a laboratory or a small room with an appropriate ventilation duct. -- Company History -- August 2004 - Yotsubishi Corporation was founded. Yotsubishi Corporation started the international distribution of the animal research equipment and other related scientific instruments. January, 2011 - Yotsubishi Corporation changed its name to Hario Science Co., Ltd. As a subsidiary company of Hario Glass Co., Ltd., Hario Science started to develop a new type of inhalation exposure system and scientific instruments while expanding international partnerships throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. March, 2012 - Hario Science became an independent company as Shibata Biotechnology Inc. All divisions of animal research equipment and scientific instrument engineering were transferred to Shibata Biotechnology. Shibata Biotechnology launched its first Multipurpose Inhalation Cage (MIC) Unit. In the same year, Shibata Biotechnology signed a partnership with Karolinska institutet in Stockholm. The collaborative research and development of minimally invasive microdialysis probes and embedding biosensors began from the researchers point of view. October, 2016 - The partnership was signed with Korea Institute of Toxicology (KIT), and the Compact Inhalation System was developed.
