About UrbanShift
UrbanShift is a global program that supports cities to adopt integrated approaches to urban development, building a low-carbon, climate-resilient future where both people and planet can thrive. The program is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and led by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), in partnership with World Resources Institute (WRI), C40 Cities, ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). UrbanShift is committed to transforming the way cities develop, enabling growth within planetary boundaries while guaranteeing a livable future for all. We collaborate with 20+ cities across Asia, Africa and Latin America on local development projects; we also provide our cities with the training and resources they need to reimagine their urban fabric and create resilient communities where people and planet thrive – together.
