There are often (mis)perceptions as to the capabilities of African based businesses especially when they are viewed against competitors in the “developed” world. Given our experiences, and empirical evidence gathered over many years, we are of the firm belief that: • Businesses operating in Africa are more than capable of competing on the global stage and delivering “top-notch” results • They do however require solutions that that are informed by a deep understanding of the local context! Our philosophy is to take complex business and social challenges and make them simple… good… business! Our management team and network of associates have spent the last 30+ years working internationally and across the African continent; in executive roles, growing our own businesses and consulting across a multitude of industry sectors and social contexts. We are uniquely qualified to engage from the executive suite through to the front-line teams or the trader’s table in a rural market. Our experiences have taught us to work back from the end “customer”. We have learnt that the best solutions evolve through effective partnering with our clients. We are pragmatic and hands-on; we blend the best-of-breed processes and tools with deep stakeholder insight. We understand that any business initiative requires the active support of the very people impacted by or supporting the envisaged changes. Change Management must be married to the Management of Changes! We see ourselves as being extremely pragmatic, and practical, with the bulk of our engagements being far removed from the comfort of airconditioned desks and offices; we will go where others can’t or won’t to uncover the insights and build the relationships that intimately inform our solution approaches. Oftentimes we find ourselves saying what needs to be said, rather than what stakeholders may want to hear; we make ourselves comfortable with the uncomfortable and will choose the truth over convenience every time.
