Now numbering 29, group companies include award-winning genre specialists such as UK-based Dragonfly (factual), Kudos (drama), Princess Productions (entertainment and multi-genre) and Shine TV (factual and factual entertainment), market-leading US producers Shine America plus Metronome Film & Television, the Nordic region’s pre-eminent production group. Shine International, the group’s international distribution arm is responsible for the distribution of over 3,000 hours of broadcast content annually.
Over the last three years the group has established Shine Australia, Shine Germany, Shine France, and most recently Shine Iberia. The group has recently enhanced its digital and direct to consumer credentials with the additions of social gaming specialists Bossa Studios and market-leading online broadcaster and original content producers ChannelFlip.
In May Shine moved into the children’s entertainment genre in a co-venture with Teletubbies and In The Night Garden co-creator Andrew Davenport. Shine Group became a wholly owned subsidiary of News Corporation in March 2011.
