Shipyards Association of India

The Shipyards Association of India (SAI) is a registered industry body established in 1987, dedicated to advancing the interests of Indian shipyards engaged in the construction, repair, and maintenance of ships, floating crafts, and ship ancillary industries. With a focus on fostering the structured growth of the shipbuilding sector, SAI serves as an active and unified platform to address common challenges and policy matters affecting the industry. The Association plays a pivotal role in supporting the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives by promoting indigenous capabilities and competitiveness in shipbuilding. SAI's membership comprises some of the most reputed and dependable private shipyards, collectively working to strengthen India’s maritime infrastructure and self-reliance in shipbuilding and repair.
