Founded in 2020 and launching in 2024, Shokuya imports artisanal Japanese food from different regions of Japan, redesigns labels with producers, and markets and sells its portfolio through its online store, shokuya.com and through broad retail. Shokuya was founded by Henry Sidel, who founded, led, grew, and sold Joto Sake LLC from 2005 to 2022. Henry is collaborating with Mutsumi Kaneda, who owned one of the most successful Japanese restaurants in New Jersey for thirty years and now lives in Japan, and Hisaya Kadoi, who returned to Japan after managing Japanese restaurants in New York for twenty-five years. As of mid-November, 2024, Shokuya is finalizing product selection and preparing its online store for launching. Stay tuned!
