Show and Heal

In 2016, Show and Heal simply started as a Youtube channel to document stories (and break stereotypes) of local children from misrepresented populations, such as Sikh, Indigenous, Muslim, African American, Caribbean, Latino, and Queer communities. Since then, to provide a holistic solution to the multi-dimensional problems our youth face, we evolved into a nonprofit that founded an inclusive, after-school enrichment club for high school students to explore their respective cultural identities and lived experiences, and ask for help without judgment. Initiatives included an in-school mental health referral network, self-care and self-awareness tools, diversity events/trainings, community service engagements, and educational documentaries. During the pandemic, the brave space shifted online to continue supporting youth mental health. Today, Show and Heal is leading holistic healing and mindfulness initiatives that destigmatize mental health for the youth. Via social media we are sharing the wisdom and beautiful diversity within India and how interconnected we as human beings are. Through our yoga and diversity education offerings, videos, interviews, and children’s books, we break stereotypes and support youth in their holistic healing journey towards self-awareness, so they may show their authentic selves and heal their communities!
