SHPE-NYC History
The New York City Chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE-NYC) formed in 1987 and was incorporated in 1988 by a group of Hispanic engineers and scientists responding to a need to unite Hispanic culture and professionals in the New York City Metropolitan area. The founders’ aspired to both provide positive role models to young professionals while creating a strong member network.
