sHYpS aims to support the decarbonisation of the shipping industry. It will develop a hydrogen-based solution, which can be adapted to multiple types of vessels and in some cases can already achieve IMO’s target for 2030 and 2050.
The concept developed is based on (i) hydrogen storage via modular intermodal ISO c-type containers, (ii) their dedicated logistics, and (iii) a suitable Fuel Cell based powertrain.
The project kicked off on June 1st, 2022, and it will run for 4 years.
Funded by the Horizon Europe programme.
