The business started in 2018 as a unit of Business Development department of Selangor Industrial Corporation. In 2022, it was converted as Smart City Development Business Sector managing Smart City, Telecommunications and Green Technology. The business has grown progressively starting from deployment of Smart City infrastructure at PKNS township at Selangor Cyber Valley. Another milestone was a achieved in 2020 when the team was entrusted Selangor State government to deploy and operate SELDEC, online marketplace to serve minor & micro size entrepreneurs. The business is further expanded to offer telecommunications services with the a quisition of NFP and ASP license. The company has offered dark fiber leasing in 2020, Telco poles/structure and operate broadband services 2022. The company secured another major milestone in 2023 with the launching of Rooftop Solar business. Todate, the business is doing well for residential and commercial buildings. The SIC management saw huge potentials with team and decided to convert the department into a subsidiary From 1st Jan 2025, the digital infrastructure (Smart city and Telecommunications services) and Sustainable Development business units of SIC are officially become a subsidiary, SIC Digital Sdn Bhd (previously known as Selmedia Sdn Bhd).
