Opening in 2002 as part of the Millett Group, it shares its reputation with the internationally recognised Wake Up! Hostels brand and as such has become an institution amongst students and backpackers alike. Evolving as a brand, the bar has undergone multiple refurbishments over its 16-year operation and continues to adapt to meet the needs of the ever-changing Sydney nightlife to remain market leaders. Integral to its success, the team work tirelessly to maintain close ties with local hostels, universities, colleges, clubs, societies and more, catering to hundreds of parties and social gatherings every year. Side Bar prides itself on great music, awesome parties and epic entertainment. As such, it has built a reputation among local and international students as a party seven nights a week. Mechanical bulls, Foam Parties, Trivia Nights, Paint Parties, Ball-Pits, Full Moon blowouts, 90s 00s Throwbacks, and Silent Discos are just some of the never-ending themes and events it has on offer.
