SIGMA Study group

SIGMA is a research network that enables medical students to participate in high-quality clinical trials and benefit from broad training opportunities. It was established by CHIR-Net as a student-driven multicenter research network in Germany, with tight connection to the national CHIR-Net as well as pan-European and international frameworks, such as the EuroSurg initiative. The main objectives of SIGMA include the design, initiation, conduction, analysis, and publication of prospective multicenter clinical trials initiated and led by medical students as well as implementation of EbM in everyday surgical education.
