In 1987, we ceased operations of its last blast furnace and shifted to utilizing recycled steel scrap as our primary raw material. With this step, we achieved a level of COโ emissions three decades ago that is now considered a benchmark for our industry.

Even though our COโ intensity is notably lower than the global average, we remain dedicated to further reducing emissions. Substantial investments in best available technology (BAT) have already been made, and numerous future investments are planned.
All these investments are part of our strategy to reduce CO2 intensity by 51% by 2030 compared to the 2020 baseline and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
