With a great passion of producing high-class Chinese wine, the founder Gao Lin and her daughter Emma Gao established Silver Heights in 2007. Nowadays, the vineyards cover an area of 70 hectares on the stony eastern slopes of the Helan mountain. Emma Gao was trained in Bordeaux and got a national degree in wine-making. She married Thierry Courtade, an experienced winemaker at Château Calon-Ségur. Since first vintage in 2007 was met with astonished accolades by domestic and international wine experts, Gao Lin, Emma, and Thierry have continued to focus on making the highest quality wine possible and on developing the Ningxia terroir.
