Silvertex is a 3-dimensional textile fabric with a defined proportion of wet-chemically silver-coated threads. Silvertex effectively protects drinking water, process water and technical liquids from contamination. It has an antimicrobial effect by reducing germ growth and microbiological growth over time in the reservoir and in the entire pipe system. This process is called the oligodynamic effect and describes the damaging effect of metal cations on pathogens and bacteria. Thanks to the self-dosing properties of Silvertex and the fact that it can be used for up to 12 months ,the water now can stay in a hygienically flawless state for up to 6 months.
The possible use cases of Silvertex are extensive: it can be used both stationary and mobile. In the mobile application, Silvertex is suitable in any utilization in which water needs to be stored due to the constant change of location or self-sufficiency. This includes all road, air, water, and rail vehicles with water storage capabilities such as RVs, planes, trains, or e.g., food trucks. In stationary use, Silvertex can preserve not only stored water in tanks or process water in industry (e.g., cooling circuits), but is also successfully used in plant construction, for the operation of air washers, air humidifiers or in water treatment systems and wherever water needs to be protected from microbiological contamination.
Silvertex in standard product versions is suitable for different tank sizes up to 300 gallons (1200 liters) and preserves up to 16000 gallons (60000 liters) of water. In combining the Silvertex standard product versions basically all tank sizes can be covered.
