Rakesh Kapila and George Sim, the founders of the firm, qualified with “top four” and “top ten” practices respectively. Wide-ranging expertise in civil matters includes cases involving loss of profits, family law, personal injuries, business valuations, professional negligence and contractual disputes and that in criminal cases includes fraud, confiscation proceedings and money laundering. They have both given evidence in the High Court and the Crown Court on numerous occasions.
Mr Kapila and Mr Sim have been appointed as Single Joint Experts on numerous forensic accountancy assignments. They have also been instructed as advisors and experts in mediations. Sim Kapila has undertaken forensic accountancy work directly for solicitors, insurers, multinationals, the Crown Prosecution Service, financial services regulatory authorities, local authorities and other public sector bodies. Sim Kapila has an associated firm in the USA specialising in comparable areas of work.
Mr Kapila and Mr Sim have presented courses on forensic accountancy to solicitors (including Resolution).
