In January of 2014 Google was found guilty in a jury trial of infringing the SimpleAir patents and in March of 2014 a jury awarded SimpleAir $85 million for Goolgle's infringement by its Google Cloud Messaging (GCM) and Android Cloud to Device Messaging (C2DM) services. These services are used by Google to process and send push notifications for Android applications
