Since its founding, dating back to the early 1960s, S.I.P.A. S.p.A. (Armed Prefabricated Industrial Company) has focused its activity on the production of centrifuged reinforced concrete poles (c.a.c.) for medium and low voltage electric power lines, having as customers, at first the various Electric Companies and, after nationalization, E.N.E.L. Over the years, the Company has expanded and consolidated its position on the market by producing poles in c.a.c. intended for all Territorial Directions of E.N.E.L. delivering them to destiny on almost all national territory. The industrial plant, located in Benevento, on the S.S. Appia at km. 265, consists of 7,000 sqm of covered production facilities, on a total area of 53,000 sqm of land. Recently, all the facilities and equipment have been renewed to become more eco-compatible and allow them to adapt to the new production needs. S.I.P.A S.p.A. is currently the largest national producer of poles in c.a.c. for medium and low voltage lines, with a production capacity of about 32,000 poles / year on two shifts. The need to adapt to greater competitiveness in the industry led the company to design and produce in 2004 mixed poles (structures consisting of a cac trunk on which a folded metal extension is engaged) covering supply requests for poles up to 18 meters high. This product is of a certain degree of competitiveness compared to the analogous one made entirely of sheet metal and therefore found a good success in the market of supports for medium voltage lines.  In 2012, S.I.P.A. S.p.A. made an investment aimed at the creation of a new production facility for the production of prefabricated cabins in reinforced concrete for electrical equipment according to ENEL specifications. The aim of the initiative was to diversify the production, alongside the traditional and exclusive of centrifuged reinforced concrete poles, the production of a concrete product that is aimed at a larger market of potential customers, located mainly in the center -sud, for the connections of the many photovoltaic and wind fields in progress and planned in the coming years. Production capacity can reach 200 units per year.  Since 2014, in order to satisfy the different market demands more fully, a new production facility for the production of MT and BT electric poles has been launched, made entirely of folded steel sheet, also with multiple engaging trunks. The new product allows S.I.P.A. S.p.A. to have greater flexibility, also accessing new markets such as lighthouse towers and mini winds, and at the same time this product, thanks to its lightness, is more suitable for export. The production capacity of the new production line can reach 12,000 units per year.  Product quality, punctuality in supplies, care for environmental issues, allowed the Company to get the most of the rating rating recognized by ENEL. The Company operates with a certified quality management system UNI EN ISO 9001: 2008 and is also certified for environmental management according to UNI EN ISO 14001: 2004. In addition, in relation to the production of centrifuged reinforced concrete poles, S.I.P.A. S.p.A. guarantees the factory production control in accordance with EN 12843: 2004 - CE marking of poles.
