SIRCEA - Safe Intelligence Research Centre for Eastern Africa

SIRCEA is a nonprofit research centre dedicated to advancing artificial intelligence in Eastern Africa with safety, ethics, and responsibility at its core. Our work focuses on ensuring that AI technologies are developed, deployed, and scaled in ways that are secure, trustworthy, and beneficial to society. We conduct applied research on AI safety, build practical frameworks for ethical development, and support local innovation through training, certification, and knowledge sharing. Our goal is to make AI systems more transparent, inclusive, and aligned with real-world needs, particularly in low-resource and rapidly evolving environments.
