The mission of the SIS Program includes the advancement of science in operative imaging and sensing, data fusion and extraction, human-technology interfaces, interventional instrumentation, and guided surgical navigation.
The Surgical and Interventional Sciences Program (SIS) brings together basic, translational, and clinical research experts who are pushing the frontiers of interventional medicine. More than 50 researchers work together with trainees and staff to expand knowledge in surgical procedures and trauma medicine.
Within the SIS Program, clinicians, scientists and engineers work together to develop innovative technologies that enable safer and more effective treatments for patients. These multidisciplinary research projects support a broad spectrum of innovative applications in the field of medicine, ultimately ensuring safer and more accessible treatments for patients.
